STATESBORO, Ga. - Georgia Southern Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein announced Thursday the addition of the University of Mississippi to the Eagles' future football schedule. GS and Ole Miss will meet on Sept. 12, 2020 in Oxford, Mississippi.

The Eagles and Rebels played last season with Ole Miss holding on late for a 37-27 win. 

The Eagles are no strangers to SEC teams having played 12 games against current members with future games against Auburn (2017), LSU (2019) and Arkansas (2021) on the docket. After having played Georgia in 2015 and Ole Miss in 2016, the addition of this Ole Miss game means the Eagles will have an SEC opponent on their schedule six times over a seven-year span going through 2021.

The addition of Ole Miss nearly completes the non-conference portion of the 2020 schedule. A week after the Eagles take on the Rebels, they'll host Florida Atlantic on Sept. 19 and then host Houston on Sept. 26. When a fourth non-conference game is announced (which will be a home contest), it will mean the Eagles could play eight games in the state of Georgia that season.

Season ticket pre-sales are now open for the 2017 football season. Fans may pre-order new season ticket packages by visiting GSEagles.com/Tickets or by calling 1(800) GSU-WINS during business hours (Monday - Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.). They can also stop by the Athletics Ticket Office at 203 Lanier Drive. Season tickets are as low as $75/each for family plan sections and require a minimum purchase of two.
