Safety ready for Saturday's Spring Game
Following practice, GSEagles.com had a chance to catch up with safety Joshua Moon, who is the leader of a young defensive secondary.
Q: Being the veteran leader in the secondary, what is the biggest thing you want the defensive backs to pride on this season?
A: I want everybody to buy in. We're young, but a lot of us played last year. The big thing is really us buying in and stepping up as young guys, being leaders on the team and on the defense.
Q: What is something that you want to improve on this season?
A: My leadership. I know last year, I did what I was supposed to do but I didn't always lead vocally. I want to try to lead vocally more and get everybody on the same page.
Q: How is it going to feel stepping back on the field this Saturday for the spring game?
A: Really good. This is what we've been waiting on since the last game and we'll just be ready to get back out there and perform.
Q: Last year your were third on the team in tackles. Is there one aspect of your game (run or pass) that you pride yourself on being better at?
A: I want to be good at both, that is the main goal. But at the end of the day I play defensive back so I really need to make sure I'm good on the back end stopping the pass.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete and why?
A: Eric Berry, because he went to my high school and he is just a beast in everything he does.
Q: What is the story behind the neck roll?
A: Last year I had a little injury on my neck and they made me wear the neck roll. Right now they are making me wear it and I don't really want to wear it.
Q: Who is the best person on the team to follow on Twitter and why?
A: I'll say Seth [Shuman], because he is the goat playing baseball and football at the same time.
