STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern women's basketball team (13-15, 9-8 SBC) travels to Atlanta this weekend to face off against Georgia State (11-17, 7-10 SBC) for the final regular season game of the season. The Eagles and Panthers will face off inside the Georgia State Sports Arena at 12 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN3 as well as online on the radio with the Georgia Southern Sports Network.

The Eagles and Panthers will be meeting for the 43
rd time in women's basketball. Georgia Southern holds a 24-18 advantage over the Panthers. The two teams met earlier this season in Statesboro and a strong second half by the Panthers led them to defeat Georgia Southern, 54-58. Last season, GS and GSU split the home-and-home regular-season series with each team winning on the road. Â
Georgia State is coached by seventh-year head coach Sharon Baldwin-Tener. Baldwin-Tener, who has been a collegiate head coach for 18 years, is 72-129 in Atlanta and 270-264 during her career.
Georgia State enters Saturday's game after dropping both contests last weekend against Arkansas State and Little Rock. The Panthers have lost three of their last four contests. As a team, the Panthers average 62.0 points per game, but they allow 64.4 points to their opposition. Georgia State averages 38.4 rebounds per game, while their opponents average 37.3 per game. The Panthers force turnovers from their opponents an average of 17.8 times per game, but turn the ball over 18.5 themselves.
Georgia State's freshman guard Jada Lewis is the only player averaging double-digit points per game with 11.4. Lewis has played in all 28 games for the Panthers with a 41.0% (119-290) percentage from field goal range, and a 38.2% (29-76) average from beyond the three point line. Â Four Panthers besides Lewis average above eight points per game, Tiffany Holston (9.7), Madison Newby (9.3), Makeba Ponder (8.6) and Astaja Tyghter (8.0). Holston leads the team from below with an average of 8.7 rebounds per outing.

The Georgia Southern women's basketball team (13-15, 9-8 SBC) defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves (6-22, 4-12 SBC) inside of the Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.Â
Patrice Butler led the charge for the Eagles, going 11-22 from the field and scoring a career-high 28 points against the Red Wolves. The senior also collected seven rebounds and two steals on the day.

Brittany Fowler led the Red Wolves on her Senior Day with 27 points and two steals. Jada Ford contributed 18 points, and Payton Tennison scored nine. Lauren Bradshaw led the Red Wolves from down low with 12 rebounds on the day.

Georgia Southern will head to New Orleans on Saturday for the Sun Belt Tournament. Their opponent for the first round of the tournament on Tuesday, March 7
