STATESBORO, Ga. – This past weekend the Georgia Southern Track and Field team traveled to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the UNF Spring Break Invitational. The Eagles walked away with multiple top 5 and top 10 finishes at the event. This marked the second outdoor event of the season for the Eagles. Next up is a midweek event in Savannah, in preparation for the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida.

Bailey Willett moved up to second in the Sun Belt Conference for the 800 meter event after posting a 2:12.12 time at the UNF Spring Break Invitational.

During the track events
Bailey Willett took second in the 800 meter event, while
Ashton Lord placed eighth in the 5000 meters.
Desiree Blunt also took eighth in the 200 meters and was a part of the 4 X 100 relay team which placed fifth. The team included Desiree,
Chasin Gladdis,
Beyunka Foster, and
Tatiyana Rayford.

In the field events
Eugenia Tan finished seventh in the Long Jump, while
Jamelia Owens (3
rd) and
Diamond Reese (9
th) both had top ten finishes in the Shot Put event.
Jamelia Owens (5
th) and
Alexis Gant (7
th) also placed top 10 ten in the Discus.
Kelsey Arnold placed eighth in the hammer throw to conclude the top ten events that the blue and white collected this weekend.
