Eagles Fall in Alabama Road Trip

Men's Tennis falls to 0-2 in Sun Belt play
STATESBORO, Ga. – This past weekend the men's tennis team completed its fifth and sixth matches of the nine match road stint. The Eagles would drop to 15-10 on the season following two tough matches in Alabama. The blue and white will now shift their focus to instate rival Georgia State, who they travel to play on Friday afternoon.
"Two tough losses this weekend," Head coach Sander Koning said. "We keep shooting ourselves in the foot. We are close in every match, but we keep breaking down when it matters. We have to believe in ourselves and we will breakthrough."
UAB – In the first meeting since 2009 the Eagles took to the courts to face off against the Blazers of UAB. The Eagles would start off hot winning the doubles point and taking momentum into singles play. The Blazers didn't let that phase them as they went on to defeat the Eagles 4-3 in Birmingham.

TROY – On Saturday afternoon the Eagles faced off against Sun Belt Conference opponent Troy. The Trojans would take the doubles point and lead 1-0 heading into singles play. The Eagles would not be able to get anything going being defeated by the Trojans 4-0. The Eagles would fall to 0-2 in the conference and will now head to Atlanta to face off against the Panthers of Georgia State.
