Eagles Travel to Jacksonville to Compete in UNF Spring Break Invite

Track and Field continues outdoor season in Florida
STATESBORO, Ga. – On Friday, the Georgia Southern track and field team will take to the track for the first time in over a week. The Eagles will head to Jacksonville, Florida to compete in the UNF Spring Break Invite. The blue and white are entering the UNF Spring Break Invite after a week off for spring break. The Eagles last meet was in Savannah, Georgia when they took on the Tigers.
The Eagles would finish the weekend with multiple top three finishes. Desiree Blunt and Chasin Gladdis would take first and second in the 100 meter event, while Bailey Willett and Jillian Sloane took first and second in the 400 meter event. Tatiyana Rayford placed first in the 100 meter hurdles adding to the numerous events that the Eagles controlled in Savannah.
The field events also has success in Savannah. Twandalette Cotton placed second in the high jump, while teammate Eugenia Tan placed third in the long jump. Nia Hill also saw the podium placing first in the triple jump. Jamelia Owens, Kelsey Arnold, and Diamond Reese, swept the podium in the shot put event, ahead of fourth place finisher and teammate Alexis Gant.
