STATESBORO, Ga. - The tenth $10,000 Reverse Raffle and Auction is one week away. The annual fundraising event, made possible by the Eagle Football Alumni Association, will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the Natural Resources Building at Ogeechee Technical College following the Blue-White spring football game.
All Georgia Southern University alumni, friends, fans and former athletes are invited to attend. The Reverse Raffle includes live entertainment, food and an open bar with all proceeds directly benefiting the Georgia Southern football program, in addition to the Erk Russell, Tom 'Doc' Smith, and Roger Inman Scholarships that are available to the University's student-athletes, student managers and athletic trainers.
The fifth edition of Erk Russell Commemorative Shotgun series will be auctioned off this year. Standing at number five in a series of nine, this year's shotgun will feature the "1985 National Championship."
Specialty items to be auctioned will include an authentic, autographed Georgia Southern white helmet, a Georgia Southern alternative helmet autographed by the 2016 Eagle Football team, one of a kind Georgia Southern football pictures, items autographed by the members of the 2016 senior class and so much more!
Other items in the auction will include autographed sports memorabilia from professional teams, VIP away game team travel experiences to Auburn and Appalachian State as well as the once in a lifetime opportunity to lead the Eagles out of the tunnel and onto the field during a home game at Allen E. Paulson Stadium.
The cost for a ticket is $100. One ticket is valid for two admissions into the event and one entry in the $10,000 Reverse Raffle drawing. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 for Silent Auction bidding during a social hour. The Silent Auction will conclude at 7:30 p.m. and the Live Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. All tickets must be checked in at the door by 6:00 p.m. to be entered into the $10,000 Reverse Raffle drawing. The final ten tickets for the $10,000 raffle will be drawn at the conclusion of the live auction. The Live Auction is made possible by Alex Grovenstein.
