STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern football team returned to the practice field at Beautiful Eagle Creek for a spirited two-hour practice in full pads on a cool Statesboro Tuesday morning. After breaking for a week for Spring Break, the Eagles got back after it as the offense continued to install its new system while the defense continued fine tuning its system.

Afterwards, GSEagles.com got a chance to catch up with Myles Campbell, who's one of the few returning wide receivers who saw significant playing time last season.

Q: What is the biggest difference (besides games) between spring practice and fall practice, and which do you prefer?
A: Of course I like the fall because it's game time and everybody loves playing games, but I think you perfect your craft and get better in the spring. During the fall it's more applying what you did in the spring and getting results from that. I think spring is where you actually get better and work on your craft to be successful in the fall.

Q: What is the biggest thing that you want to improve on as a player this season?
A: Leadership. I really didn't have to do that these past few years. I want to become more of a vocal leader and continue to lead by example throughout the season.

Q: How is the chemistry and communication between coaches and players so far?
A: I think the communication is working well; they tell us what we need to do and we follow it. I think everybody has an understanding of what we want. We've created a baseline and are working each day to continue to build on that."

Q: What is your nickname on the team?
A: Coach Chandler calls me Myles Davis, but obviously my last name isn't Davis so that's about it.

Q: What were you like in high school?
A: I was the same type of player I am now. I wasn't as fundamentally sound as I am today. I'm more of a technician now; in high school I just went out there and played.

Q: What did you do over Spring Break?
A: I got the chance to go to Nicaragua with a bunch of athletes from Georgia Southern with Athletes in Action. It was a blessing to be able to go down there and experience a different culture and get to help those who are less fortunate than we are. We had a pair of long flights to get there, and then a long bus ride to where we were staying, but once we got there it was just an incredible time giving back and helping out. It's something I'll never forget.
