STATESBORO, Ga. – On Friday afternoon the Sun Belt Conference named
JC Alcala the Men's Tennis Player of the Week. The junior finished this past weekend with a 4-0 record, on route to helping the Eagles continue their undefeated home record. Alcala primarily plays the 1 position in singles and plays the 3 in doubles with partner
Santiago Suarez.

Alcala's 4-0 weekend record included a match clinching victory Saturday afternoon, when the Eagles broke the attendance record against Kennesaw State. He also defeated Freddie McGeehan from East Carolina University 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5) in a come from behind third set tiebreaker. JC currently posts a 9-4 record in singles matches in the 1 position.

The blue and white will now head to The Lone Star State to compete against Abilene Christian, Idaho, Incarnate Word, and UT-Arlington. The Eagles will begin Sun Belt Conference play on March 18
th when they travel to UTA to conclude their Texas road trip.
