STATESBORO, Ga. – Coming off of a short week, the men's tennis team takes the court looking to extend their winning streak to eight in a row. The Eagles will travel to Macon, Georgia to face off against Mercer at 3:00 p.m. The Mercer Bears enter Thursday with a 5-2 record and a 4-0 record at home, and the Eagles are looking to change that. Diego Finkelstein and Christian Kerrigan look to get the Eagles off to a fast start in doubles play. Since returning from injury Kerrigan and Finkelstein have been 5-1 in Dual matches in the one position. This will be a short one match road trip before the Eagles return home for three matches.

"We are coming off of a short week," head coach Sander Koning said. "Therefore it will be a good challenge for us. How do you deal with such a week? You get yourself ready to play. I think the match will be a battle, they are well coached and we know they don't give up. It will come down to who is more disciplined when it counts. We are looking forward to the test."

LAST TIME OUT

Last time out the Eagles would cap off a six game home stand with matches against Gardner-Webb, ABAC, and Stetson. The blue and white would sweep the weekend and remain undefeated at home. On Friday the Eagles extend the winning streak to six and improved to 10-4 on the season. They would take the doubles point from Gardner-Webb after splitting the first two matches. Senior Dani Casablancas would get singles play off to a fast start defeating his opponent in straight sets, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Artemie Amari and Stefano Di Aloy would follow shortly after giving the blue and white the 4-0 victory. The weekend was controlled by quick starts by the Eagles and they continued to feed off of the success of the 4, 5, and 6 players.
