STATESBORO, Ga. – On Sunday the Eagles would cap off their six match home stand with a victory over Stetson 4-0. The blue and white improved their season record to 11-4, after protecting the friendly confines of the Wallis Tennis Center these last six matches. The Eagles head to Mercer on Thursday before returning home for a three match stand at home.
Â
"We came out with a lot of energy today," said head coach
Sander Koning. "We were able to set the tone to the match early and we never looked back. In doubles we had several games going the distance, but we were more disciplined on those critical moments. In singles my hat goes off to Artemie and Stefano. They played well and kept our momentum going. Even the guys who didn't finish their match were battling to get back in it and we were leading all second sets. I think this helped us and took the wind out of Stetsons' sails. Overall we had a good weekend, we will enjoy it and get ourselves ready for a Mercer team who is having a good season so far."

The next home match is scheduled for noon on March 4
th against Kennesaw State at the Wallis Tennis Center. Fans are invited to help the Eagles break the attendance record, as well as get the men's tennis team on the ITA Tennis Wall of Fame for largest match attendance for the month of March. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and sit outside on the grass. Admission is free and Pizza will be given out while supplies last.
