Men’s Golf Inks Three

The new Eagles will join the program for 2018-19.

STATESBORO – Men's golf coach Carter Collins announced today that Mason Williams (Bridgeport, W. Va./Bridgeport), Ben Carr (Columbus, Ga./Columbus) and Wilson Andress (Macon, Ga./First Presbyterian Day) and have signed National Letters of Intent to attend Georgia Southern and compete for the Eagles beginning in the 2018-19 season. 

"Coach (Chan) Metts and I are very fortunate and excited to add these three young men to the Georgia Southern men's golf team," said Collins. "Each of these three will have the opportunity to add his own stamp but some qualities that Mason, Ben and Wilson all have in common are: maturity, toughness, talent, work ethic and a will to win. This is a powerful class that will have the chance to make a profound impact on this program, academically, athletically and in the Georgia Southern community."

Collins on Williams: "We have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Mason throughout the recruiting process.  He has been very successful on the national scene and has transitioned himself into an elite junior golfer.  We believe Mason has the maturity, competiveness and work ethic to hit the ground running when he gets to Statesboro next fall."

Collins on Andress: "Wilson is a very determined young man who will bring a lot to this team.  He has a great work ethic and this is apparent in the way his game has been trending upwards in the previous 12-18 months.  Wilson's future is very bright, and we are thrilled that he chose Georgia Southern."
