"This has been a tough weekend for us," Head Coach Laura Thomas said about the weekend trip to North Carolina, which began on Friday at Gardner-Webb. "Both facilities did not have a warm down pool so we were unable to warm down or warm up between events. That really hurt us, particularly since we have had an extra tough week in the weight room.
"I am proud of how our girls put everything they had into their races, but it just wasn't there for us this week," Coach Thomas said. "I blame myself for putting them in such a difficult race situation for two meets in a row. However, this team did not give up and fought every time they stepped up on the blocks. This will serve us well moving forward and particularly at our conference meet."
The next competition for the Eagle swimming and diving squad will be the diving team competing at Emory on Friday and Saturday, November 3-4, against the Eagles and Wingate University. The swimming team's next competition will be at the Florida Tech Invitational on Thursday through Saturday, November 16-18.
