STATESBORO, Ga. – On Friday morning the Eagles began their annual Georgia Southern Invitational at the Wallis Tennis Center. The Blue and White had a great opening round with all Eagles advancing to the round of 16 in the main singles draw.
JC Alcala and
Carlos Garcia faced off in the round of 16 with
JC Alcala winning the match and advancing to the quarterfinals.
In doubles play the Eagles had four teams in the draw. Two of the Eagles teams had a first round bye and advanced to the quarterfinals, where they awaited their opponents. The first of two semifinals matches tomorrow will feature two Eagle teams.
Artemie Amari and
Santiago Suarez will be facing off against
Eddie Landin and
Diego Finkelstein.
JC Alcala and
Stefano Di Aloy will also be headed to the semifinals following their victory in the first match they played.
