Dear Eagle Fan,

I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to every member of the Georgia Southern family who has come to Paulson Stadium this fall to cheer on the Eagles or has traveled across the country to places like Auburn, Birmingham, Bloomington and Amherst to proudly don the blue and white in visiting stadiums. Your passion and enthusiasm are what drives our student-athletes to succeed every time they take the field. Your support means the world to our young men and women as well as our coaches, staff and university.

As many of you know, we made a change in the leadership with our football program and I ask that you support interim head coach Chad Lunsford and his staff. I know that many people are understandably disappointed in the current record of the football team, but I promise you the staff and the players are still working as hard as they can to get positive results. Our coaches continue to develop our student-athletes, and I have witnessed how our young men keep working every day in practice and how they give it their all on game days. Filling up Paulson Stadium and creating an intimidating environment for the visiting team is more valuable to our team than you can imagine.

We need your support more than ever. We need to continue to pull in one direction and work together to gain momentum; once it gets rolling, I know big things are on the horizon. We are stronger when we support one another. Standing together at football games doesn't just go a long way toward helping the football program, it also helps the other 16 varsity sports at Georgia Southern.

I continue to see progress in many areas of the program, and I feel confident that good things are going to happen as we continue our development as an FBS program. The football program is used to winning and we all have high expectations. Remember, tough times don't last, but "True Blue" always does.

Your continued support is what makes Georgia Southern special, and together, I know we will do great things. Thank you again for your incredible passion and support.
