STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Athletics will hold a Teddy Bear Toss at halftime of Saturday's men's basketball game against Appalachian State in Hanner Fieldhouse Jan. 21. 

Fans are encouraged to bring a new, medium-sized stuffed teddy bear to the game, and the bears will be donated to donate to Safe Haven, a program of Citizens Against Violence which offers an emergency safe house for adult and child victims of domestic violence serving Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Jenkins, Screven and Washington counties.

Fans register their bears at the table in the lobby of Hanner Fieldhouse by writing their name on a wrist band and attaching it to their bear. Following the men's basketball alumni recognition at halftime, a target will be placed at center court, and fans will be in invited to toss their bears at the target. The closest one to the target wins a True Blue gift pack, and all teddy bears will be donated to the Safe Haven organization.

Saturday's men's basketball game is slated to tip off at 5 p.m., following the women's game against the Mountaineers, which starts at 2 p.m. The Eagle men have won their last six and are 5-0 in the Sun Belt, their best start since the 1991-92 season.
