Eagle Soccer Academy Holds a Successful First Camp in Statesboro

Campers from 11 states participated in the event

STATESBORO, GA. – The Georgia Southern Men's Soccer program held the first John Murphy Eagle Soccer Academy camp this past weekend on the banks of Beautiful Eagle Creek. A success on all accounts, the College ID Camp had more than 125 participants from 11 states and a top coaching staff from universities throughout the Southeast region. Campers hailed from as far away as Louisiana, Virginia, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

"I was pleased at such a good turnout for our first camp," said Eagle Head Coach John Murphy. "The overall standard was quite good with several players impressing throughout the weekend. Our outstanding facilities were certainly on display with our game field looking as good as I have ever seen a grass field at this time of year. It is truly a great credit to Nick Scull and our entire grounds and facilities staff. We look forward to offering more programs in the coming months."

The camp featured four training sessions over the two days and sets of 7v7 and 11v11 games each day. The John Murphy Eagle Soccer Academy is a year round training program for boys ages 8-18.
