Eagles return to action at NC State next Monday.
MEADOWS OF DAN, Va. – The 2016 Primland Collegiate Invitational has been canceled due to fog.
The first two rounds were canceled yesterday, and the tournament was shortened to an 18-hole event with tee times starting today at 9 a.m. The teams were playing the first two holes today when the fog rolled back in, causing organizers to cancel the tournament.
The tournament featured 2014 champion Wake Forest, 2015 champion North Carolina, along with Georgia Southern, Kansas State, Loyola (Md.), UNC Wilmington, Penn State, SMU, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
"We were ready to compete in this tough field, and we're disappointed not to be able to tee it up," said Georgia Southern coach Carter Collins. "We did everything we could to get the tournament started, but the fog wouldn't cooperate."
Georgia Southern will be back in action next Monday at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, hosted by NC State at Lonnie Pool Golf Course.
