Top Players Returning
Troy returns 47 lettermen as 23 depart from the team going into the 2016 season. With junior quarterback Brandon Silvers (11 GP, 2,375 yds, 20 TDs-7 INTs, 61.1 pct.) returning for his third season as a starter, the Trojans will have experience in the backfield. Giving Silvers a target downfield is returning wide receiver Emanuel Thompson (12 GP, 28-299 yds, 10.7 avg, 3 TDs). With the top two targets gone from last year, Thompson had the most receiving yards in 2015 out of returning players. Senior linebackers William Lloyd (12 GP, 73 total tackles, 1 FF) and Terris Lewis (12 GP, 64 total tackles, 3 FF) finished second and third respectively in total tackles last season. Lewis also led the team in forced fumbles last season.
