STATESBORO, GA. – Former Georgia Southern Baseball pitcher Chris Beck was recalled on Tuesday (June 21st) by the Chicago White Sox for his second stint with the club. Beck replaces reliever Zach Putnam who was moved to the 15-day disabled list.

Beck will join a Chicago bullpen which has been hit with injuries this season. Putnam is the third White Sox reliever to go to the DL this season. Beck, who opened the season as a starting pitcher, made the move to the Charlotte Knights bullpen on May 17. The 25-year old righty, however, has not allowed an earned run in his last three relief outings and owns a 4-3 overall record this year with a 4.47 ERA.

Beck made his big league debut on May 28, 2015 in a spot start at the Baltimore Orioles in the second half of a doubleheader. He gave up four earned runs over six innings to take the loss.

The White Sox close out a four-game series at Boston on Wednesday and Thursday before six games back in the Windy City against Toronto and Minnesota.
