Lunsford Named Sun Belt Recruiter of the Year

Scout recognizes work done by veteran GS coach
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern already put a bow on the best signing class in the conference on Wednesday, but now, one of its coaches is being recognized for his work in building that class as Chad Lunsford has been named the top recruiter in the Sun Belt Conference this year by Scout.
The only holdover from the previous staff, Lunsford was the tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator this past season as the Eagles went 9-4 and won the GoDaddy Bowl. The 2016 season will be Lunsford's eighth in Statesboro.

"Georgia Southern is under new head coach Tyson Summers, but the Eagles finished strong in 2016. Chad Lunsford was a big part of that. He played a role in 10 of the Eagles signees this cycle. Darion Anderson, a three-star wide receiver and Martial Washington, a three-star safety are two of his top signees. Lunsford has great connections in the state of Georgia and he is really becoming a force on the recruiting trail."
