STATESBORO, Ga.- This Monday and Tuesday, the Georgia Southern track and field team wraps up their indoor season at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. The two-day event is held at the same location as the Eagles' last meet—the Samford Open—at the Birmingham Crossplex.

"I believe that our ladies are ready to compete this week for the indoor championships," head coach Kelly Carter said. "We've had a really good indoor season with some great performances, and I know that will translate into the confidence that they need at the championships. I'm looking forward to seeing it. GATA."

On Monday, events begin at 9 a.m. with the last one starting at 8:30 p.m. for women. Throughout the day, the Eagles will participate in a variety of trials for their events to prepare for the finals on Tuesday, which begin at 9 a.m.

IN THE STANDINGS
A total of six Eagles grace the top 10 in the Sun Belt Conference currently, with Jasmin Walker occupying spots in the 60 meter (seventh) and the long jump (fourth). In the 400 meter, Asha Stegall is in the top of the pack ranking fourth with a time of 56.36 seconds which she achieved last weekend. Tatiyana Rayford also chalked up a top-10 conference finish at the Samford open, finishing the 60 meter hurdles in 8.8 seconds which puts her eighth in the Sun Belt.

Bailey Willett and Jillian Sloane finished neck-and-neck in the 800 meter at the Bob Pollock Invitational, placing them in ninth and tenth in the Sun Belt respectively. Rounding out the Blue and White's reign in conference is seventh-place Kelsey Arnold who threw for 17.69m at the Samford Open.
