STATESBORO, GA. – In another sign that spring is upon us, the Georgia Southern Baseball Dugout Club presented its annual Evening with the All-Stars event on Thursday night at Nessmith-Lane Conference Center on the University's campus. Current Atlanta Braves first base coach and former National League MVP Terry Pendleton spoke at the event which signals the start of the 2016 season.
"This event starts to get everyone excited about opening day," said Coach Hennon. "It has certainly been a big event to help support Georgia Southern Baseball, but also it has been a really good event for the Statesboro Community. We've been fortunate to get some great speakers in here and we're very excited to have Terry Pendleton here."
A record number of corporate tables were purchased as Eagle Nation showed its support for Coach Hennon's program. The Georgia Southern Baseball Team was also on hand to help promote the upcoming season by engaging with fans.
Earlier in the day, Pendleton spoke to the Georgia Southern Baseball Team after the squad's practice just eight days before the 2016 season opener at Georgia.
"I talked with the Georgia Southern team about going out there and playing hard," said Terry Pendleton. "I stressed the importance of giving it everything you've got, being able to face your teammates every day and knowing that each of you in the clubhouse battled for each other."
