
Men’s Hoops Game vs. Georgia State to Air on ESPN2

The game tips off at 6 p.m. in Hanner Fieldhouse
STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern's home men's basketball contest against Georgia State Feb. 23 will air live on ESPN2 and tip off at 6 p.m. The contest will lead into a top-25 matchup featuring No. 2 Kansas and No. 22 Baylor on ESPN2 at 8 p.m.
One point will be on the line in the Southern vs. State Rivalry Series, and the Eagles trail 6-3. Georgia State picked up a point by winning the first game against the Eagles this season 69-66 in overtime Jan. 19 in Atlanta.
It's a Whiteout, and Eagle fans are encouraged to wear white to the game. The contest is also part of True Blue Week, an 11-day span with 19 home events at Georgia Southern. It will be the 58th meeting between the in-state rivals, and the Panthers have won three straight over Georgia Southern and eight of the last 11.
Fans will be able to enjoy multiple music groups at the game, including DJ Nino, the University Singers, Statesboro High School Drumline, and as always, the loud and proud Hoop Troop. Sign-making stations will be set up for fans to get creative and show their True Blue spirit on the national broadcast.
Free white out t-shirts will be handed out to students (while supplies last) as well as any fan who brings a Flight game program from the Eagles' softball home opener earlier that day at 4 p.m. Other promotions for Tuesday: Free pizza for students while supplies last; Two students will win $1,000, courtesy of the Georgia Lottery and Join GUS in the student section at 5:30 p.m. for the Dab Video on national television.
