STATESBORO, Ga. – During November, many men forgo shaving and embrace their facial hair in honor of cancer awareness month. Participants eliminate shaving for the month to embrace the hair that many cancer patients lose, in order to bring awareness and raise money to find a cure for this deadly disease.

The Georgia Southern men's tennis team did their part in the matter and helped raise money throughout the month. The team participated in multiple home sporting events, where they collected donations and raised awareness for this cause. The team also hosted a speed-serving competition for students where they were able to donate money and see who had the fastest serve.

On November 5th, the team showed their appreciation for donations by hosting a free kid's clinic to the people of Statesboro, and went on to raise $625 total. All of the donations will benefit cancer-prevention organizations worldwide.
