STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern Men's Tennis team traveled to Tallahassee this past weekend to compete in the ITA Southeastern Regional Championships. Out of the four Eagles that attended the Regional Championships, three qualified for the Main Draw. JC Alcala advanced to the Round of 16 before being defeated by Justin Roberts of USF.
 
"Overall, these guys have grown a lot and my hope is that they bring this to the other guys and convince them where we are and what we have to do as a team. I know we need to keep putting in the work like we have been doing this fall and good things will happen." Said head coach Koning.

SINGLES RESULTS:
 
Dani Casablancas

"This tournament was an eye opener for Dani and he figured out what he needs to work on against better players. He was frustrated with the results, but at the same time knows what he has to improve and I believe he will do just that. He didn't play a bad tournament, it's just making sure to make the right decisions at the right time." Head coach Sander Koning.

"JC trusted himself and what he can do in the first match. He played like he practices and we have been working towards that for some time now. I was happy to see it come back in the match. In the second match of the day you have to give credit to his opponent. He played really well and was able to mix it up enough to keep JC uncomfortable. JC has played well this weekend and I hope he will continue this process." Said coach Koning.
