STATESBORO, Ga. - Football season is upon us and the Georgia Southern Eagles are back in action and looking to defend their Sun Belt Conference title. GS will open its home portion of the schedule on the Sept. 12 against Western Michigan in Paulson Stadium and will host six games total in 2015. Below are the promotions for the entire season so you can mark your calendars and get in on all the excitement of Eagle Football!
Georgia Southern Eagles vs. Western Michigan Broncos • Sept. 12, 2015 • 6 PM**Note: Fans should arrive early for the recognition of the Night of Champions, GATA Club All-Sport Reunion, and Football National Championship Anniversaries
Night of Champions• Held annually to recognize teams who previously won a conference championship honor last year's conference championship teams in addition to championship teams of the same sport from any year in the past.
• 2014-15 Sun Belt Conference Championship Football and Men's Golf teams along with Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship Football (2004) and Men's Golf (2003)

GATA Club All-Sport Reunion• All GSU athletic alumni are invited back to the first game for this special reunion and recognition at the game.
• The reunion will kick off with a free tailgate giving athletics alumnia an opportunity to reconnect and hear from AD
Tom Kleinlein• The GATA CLUB is a platform to "Get Athletes Together Again" and is comprised of former Georgia Southern student-athletes, coaches, equipment managers and athletic trainers who all share the bond of being a Georgia Southern Eagle.

Football National Championship Anniversaries• Three Football National Championship teams will be celebrating anniversaries this year: 1985 (30 years), 1990 (25 years) and 2000 (15 years).
• The members of these historic teams will be recognized at the game.

Paint the Town Blue• Paint the Town Blue starts on Sept. 1 with the True Blue Spirit Competition and goes through the first home football game on Saturday, Sept. 12.
• The week-long event is designed to get all of Statesboro involved in the celebration of the beginning of the 2015 football season and for businesses and campus departments and members of the community to show their support of Georgia Southern University.

Band Day • Through Georgia Southern University's Band Day, high school marching bands will:
Observe rehearsals of the Southern Pride Marching Band
Experience game day as a member of a college marching band
Rehearse with Southern Pride immediately before the game
Watch a great football game between Georgia Southern and Western Michigan
Perform with Southern Pride during the game, at halftime and post-game

Georgia Southern Football vs. The Citadel Bulldogs • Sept. 19, 2015 • 6 PMMilitary Appreciation Day• Military Appreciation Day is held each year at a Georgia Southern Football game in honor of the men and women who have served and currently served in our nation's armed forces.
• Ticket Special – Any active and veteran military personnel get in free with ID.
• Family members get in with $15 discount admission
• They can purchase these tickets on gameday at the ticket booth by gates 7 and 8.
• The Georgia National Guard and GSU Army ROTC Eagle Battalion will have a Fun Zone set up by Gate 12, including an interactive STEM Truck and Humvee among other activities.
• Don't miss out on a special halftime performance from the Southern Pride Marching Band honoring all military personnel.
Family Weekend• The Office of Orientation and Parent Programs at Georgia Southern University will host the University's annual Fall Family Weekend on Sept. 18-20, 2015. Main events include a Block Party, outdoor movie and a catered tailgate with games and activities leading up to the Georgia Southern vs. The Citadel football game.

Cheerleader for a Day• Any child ages 4 to 14 have the opportunity to spend the day the GSU Cheerleading team. Participants will learn cheers, chants and important cheerleading skills from the very best, our own five-time National Champion Georgia Southern Eagle Cheerleaders.
• After the cheerleader coaching sessions, the current Eagle Cheerleaders will warm-up their game material while future Eagle Cheerleader enjoy a snack before being picked up.
• Make sure you arrive early for this amazing show!
• Parents/guardians may then take their future Eagle Cheerleaders over to Paulson Stadium where they will perform pregame and welcome the football team to the field with the Eagle Cheerleaders.

Georgia Southern Football vs. New Mexico State Aggies • Oct. 17, 2015 • 6 PMHomecoming• When cool autumn breezes give way to heated Eagle spirit, it can only mean one thing: Homecoming.
• This week-long observance plays host to thousands of Georgia Southern alumni, current students and community members. The celebration includes a variety of special events, reunions, social gatherings and even a parade.
• The week culminates in the Eagles Homecoming game at Paulson Stadium and the announcement of the Homecoming King and Queen.

Georgia Southern Football vs. Texas State Bobcats • Oct. 29, 2015 • 7:30 PMTackling for a Cure• In front of a national audience on ESPNU, join us in Tackling for a Cure
• Dedicated towards raising money and awareness for Breast Cancer Research and Education
• Georgia Southern Athletics is partnering with Zeta Tau Alpha in this effort.
• Fans will have the opportunity at the game to visit one of several tables to donate or purchase items where 100% of the proceeds will be given to Breast Cancer Research and Education.
• Keep an eye out for special pink items that will be sold at the Online Athletics store Youth Night.
• With Halloween right around the corner, all children are invited to participate in a night of fun activities.
Kids can wear their Halloween costume for Trick-or-Treating before kickoff on the Field of Dreams
