Arnold Sets New Personal Best in Day One of Sun Belt Championships

GULF SHORES, Ala. – Kelsey Arnold set a new personal best in the hammer throw to open competition for the Georgia Southern Track and Field team at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex.
Arnold improved on her old record set a year ago at the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships and finished 14th with a throw of 48.49m.
Arnold's previous season-best throw was 47.20m at the UNF Spring Break Invitational in March.
The rest of the Eagles will begin competition at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships tomorrow with the first event slated for a 9:30 a.m. CT start.
