Nine Eagles Honored By Phil Steele

Publication releases its All-Sun Belt Conference teams
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Nine Eagles were named to Phil Steele Publication's All-Sun Belt Conference team as announced by the national publication today. Three first-team choices, two on offense and one on defense highlighted the list with Derek Keaton making earning all-conference honors at two different positions. Five Eagles, one on offense, three on defense and one on special teams, made the media outlet's second-team list while two earned third-team honors.
Junior running back Matt Breida, who led the nation in rushing yards per carry, earned a spot on the first team for the second year in a row. Georgia Southern's offensive line, which paved the way for the nation's top rushing offense, had senior Darien Foreman selected for first-team honors with Andy Kwon making the second team.
Antonio Glover represented Georgia Southern as a first-team pick on defense after tying the school record with six interceptions. Making the second team on defense were Bernard Dawson, Jay Ellison and Antwione Williams.
Ironhead Gallon earned third-team honors. Keaton was named the second-team kickoff return man and the third-team punt return man.
The Eagles will depart Saturday for Mobile, Alabama, for the GoDaddy Bowl, where they will take on Bowling Green on Dec. 23.
