Meet the Eagles Schedule of Events

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Georgia Southern University President Brooks Keel and Director of Athletics Tom Kleinlein welcome Eagle fans to the ribbon cutting for the Football Operations Center, the new headquarters for the Georgia Southern Football Eagles, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 16th. The Eagles will take the field for their final scrimmage of preseason camp at 9:30 a.m. and will join members of the Women's Soccer, Men's Soccer and Volleyball teams for "Meet the Eagles" at 11 a.m. on the North Concourse. The morning's events are sponsored by Verizon Wireless.

The final scrimmage of Georgia Southern Football's preseason camp will be open to fans who want to watch the team's preparation after the ribbon cutting and before the autograph signings. Eagle fans may go on a self-guided tour of the new 50,000-square foot Football Operations Center immediately following the ribbon cutting until 10:45 a.m.

 Eagle cheerleaders and fan-favorite mascot GUS add to the morning's fun atmosphere with inflatables for children open at 10:45 a.m. on the North Concourse. Once the football scrimmage is complete, the new video board and sound system will be functional with video and promotions for fans to view and music played throughout the stadium.

During the morning's events, Eagle fans will be able to purchase season and single-game tickets for 2014 home games as representatives from the Georgia Southern Athletics Ticket Office will assist with seat selection and questions. Athletics Marketing will have a table where fans can register to win a number of football-themed prizes, pick up 2014 schedule posters for all teams, and a Eagle Football preseason roster. Additional information and membership forms for the Junior Eagle Club, for children ages four to 12, and Student Eagle Club, exclusively for college students, will also be available.

Official coaches' sideline gear as well as T-shirts, hoodies, hats and more apparel will be available at the adidas store. Operated by the University store, the adidas shop will also have unique spirit items to display Eagle pride including car decals, car flags and foam fingers as well as gift items such as cups and mugs.

Parking for the events is available in the Paulson Stadium tailgate lot with the entrance to the facility at Gate 12, located just north of Bishop Field House. The gate opens at 8 a.m. with access to the north stands, mid-deck and FOC via the north concourse.

The five-game home campaign opensSeptember 6th vs. Savannah State with two historic Thursday night games on ESPNU September 25th vs. Appalachian State and October 30th vs. Troy.
