Registration Open for “Cheerleader for a Day” Event on Nov. 29

Spirit-filled day includes learning chants and cheers and on-field pre-game experience

STATESBORO, Ga. – In addition to all the excitement surrounding the Eagles' Football game vs. ULM as the Eagles look to win its first-ever outright Sun Belt Championship, the "Cheerleader for a Day," event will also take place on November 29th. The event, which allows girls and boys from 4-14 to learn cheers and chants from the four-time national champion Georgia Southern cheerleaders. A two-hour session from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 29th allows younger Eagles to learn about Georgia Southern traditions and be a part of the spirit-filled day.  With kickoff at 6 p.m., participants will get the Paulson Stadium crowd ready to bring the Eagles on the field prior to the game.

This fun camp begins at historic Hanner Fieldhouse with check in at 1:30 a.m. and the instructional sessions starting at 2 p.m.  After the camp is complete, the corps of new Eagle cheerleaders will enjoy a snack before heading over to Paulson Stadium.  Day of registration is available and the camp cost for each child is $30. The camp cost includes an event T-shirt, snack and instruction. A ticket for the game, required to be on field for the pre-game activities, is an additional $12.

Parents should bring the signed wavier form, T-shirt, shorts, socks and athletics shoes (cheer shoes preferred) for each child participating. Cheerleading outfits and Georgia Southern spirit wear are not only allowed, but encouraged. The child that displays the most Eagle spirit will win a $25 gift certificate to the University Store.
