The Georgia Southern volleyball team has added three new faces to the spring roster and for the upcoming season. The first of three installments in this series is on Houston transfer outside hitter Kayla Knowles, one of two transfers Chad Willis added to the squad.

Q: Why Georgia Southern?
A: The culture and the coaches are a huge reason why I came here. I came over from Houston, and I was looking for a new home, and I knew I had to call Chad right away.

Q: What is the worst volleyball workout?
A: Sorry about this, Kim [Duff], but the stairs get me every single time.

Q: What's your favorite color?
A: My favorite color is blue, I've always been a blue girl. Probably light blue if I had to be more specific, like baby blue.

Q: What's your favorite food?
A: Carnitas. I love anything carnitas, especially tacos. I love tacos and Mexican food. It's my favorite.

Q: When you're on the road, what's your go-to snack?
A: GoGo Squeez, but it has to be Apple Apple or Apple Mixed Fruit. That's always my go-to.

Q: Favorite gameday hairstyle?
A: Probably a high ponytail. Sometimes, I'll slick the pony, but other times, I like leaving my hair messy.

Q: Do you put your kneepads on your shins or knees?
A: Definitely kneepads on shins. If you put your kneepads on your knees, that's just not it. You've got to have some swag and have them lower.

Q: Favorite thing about the team so far?
A: Everything. I love these girls and the coaches; I love this program and I love the people within the program. I couldn't ask for more.
