STATESBORO - Georgia Southern Head Women's Soccer Coach Chris Adams today announced the hiring of Caroline Bado as the Eagles' new assistant coach for the upcoming 2021-22 season.
Bado joins the Eagles from Auburn University, where she last served as a volunteer assistant. She graduated from Auburn with her master's degree in adult and continuing education in 2018 and played one season for the Tigers as a graduate student, starting all 20 matches on the back line and logging 1,912 minutes of action.
"Caroline has a wealth of soccer experience and will be a great role model for our players, as well as a great ambassador for our soccer program," Head Coach Adams said. "I was very impressed with Caroline's professionalism and felt like she was the perfect fit to help elevate our program to new heights."
Prior to Auburn, Bado played at UCF for four seasons, seeing action in 58 matches over her career. She scored one goal and three assists for the Knights and logged 4,430 minutes on the pitch. The Tampa, Fla., native earned her bachelor's degree in communications from UCF in 2017.
"I'm absolutely excited to be coming to Statesboro to become a part of the Eagles team," Bado said. "I'm thrilled to get started with the girls and looking forward to having a really great season. Being from the south, Georgia Southern is comfortable location wise and I am ready to be part of a program that has a lot of potential. I can't wait to see where we can take it."
