STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern women's soccer hit the road for the first time this season, after their opening road trip to Coastal Carolina was postponed due to weather and field conditions in Conway, South Carolina. The Eagles fell to in-state rival Georgia State, 1-0, in the first of two meetings this season against the Panthers.
The Eagles fall to 0-4-0 on the season and 0-2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while the Panthers improve to 3-1-0 and 2-1-0 in conference play.
Sara Story started her second consecutive match in net for the Eagles, weathering the storm of Georgia State shots throughout the night. Story made four saves and allowed one goal in the match on Sunday. Ana Diaz scored the only goal of the match in the 85th minute to give the panthers a late lead.
