STATESBORO, Ga. – This past weekend, the Georgia Southern women's tennis team traveled to Florida to compete against Stetson and UCF. The Eagles entered the weekend with a 3-0 record and would split the two matches and return home with a 4-1 record. Next up for the Eagles, they will host Savannah State Thursday, at 2:00 PM, at the Wallis Tennis Center.
 
STETSON – On Saturday the Eagles took to the courts to face, Stetson in DeLand, Florida. The Eagles were able to get an early point in doubles play, which allowed for a fast start to the match. The Hatters evened the match 3-3 before Ella Monsey defeating Alexe Viaud 3-6, 6-3, 7-5, clinching the match for the Eagles 4-3.
 
"We played a great match against Stetson today," said head coach Michele Stanford. "Definitely a nail-biter. Gaining the doubles point early on gave us a nice cushion for singles, but the Hatters came out strong. We had to turn some matches around after their team got a quick lead on us. I am very proud of the fight we showed on court today."

UCF – On Sunday, the Eagles took the courts to complete their two match road trip. The Eagles would fall to the Knights 5-2. The Knights came out strong taking two of the three doubles matches, and the early 1-0 lead heading into singles play. Guilia Riepe and Ella Monsey would give the Eagles some momentum, defeating their opponents in straight sets.
