SCOUTING THE CAMELS
Campbell currently owns a 6-1 all-time record over Georgia Southern in men's soccer, including winning the first four meetings between the two programs as well as the last two. Georgia Southern's lone win in the series came at home on September 13, 2003 when the Eagles won 3-0. The two programs have not faced off since 2009. Campbell's head coach is Dustin Fonder and he is in his second season. He is 12-13 overall, including 10-9 last season.

Campbell enters Tuesday's game with a 2-4 record on the year. The Camels have dropped three of their last five games and have had two games cancelled, including a match against North Florida. The Camels have been out-scored 13-6 by their opponents, including a 4-1 loss at home to UNC Wilmington and a 5-1 loss at home to William & Mary. Most recently, the Camels fell 2-1 on the road at Gardner-Webb to open Big South play.

Campbell's six goals on the year have all been scored by different players. Gabe Parrish and Edward Fulwood both have three points on the year as they have also added an assist each. Pepe Rangel and Gideon Betz, both of whom have scored a goal for the Camels, have taken double-digit shots on the year. Rangel has 12 shots to his name while Betz has 10. Parrish and Betz have the two game-winners on the year for Campbell. In goal, Matth Mozynski has started all six games and has 31 saves compared to a 1.92 goals against average to his credit. He also has two shutouts on the year.

LAST TIME OUT
Heading into Saturday's home game against North Florida, the Georgia Southern men's soccer team was looking for some momentum after a couple heart-breaking losses to South Carolina and Duke, sandwiched around a 2-1 win over in-state rival Mercer. The Eagles got a big confidence boost Saturday night at Eagle Field as they defeated the Ospreys 2-0 behind goals from Nick Wells and Christian Duncan as well as solid play from the defense.

Georgia Southern started four true freshmen and two redshirt freshmen along with one sophomore, but the young Eagles never backed down as they went up against a veteran lineup for UNF that featured six seniors and three juniors. The young Eagles jumped all over the Ospreys from the outset, and it quickly paid off in the 12th minute as Wells scored his first goal of the season off a feed from Josh Bronstorph. The Ospreys seemed content to sit back for most of the game while working to produce open looks, but the GS defense was able to shut down attempt after attempt all night long.

Late in the second half, David Rhoades slipped past the UNF defense but his shot was saved and knocked away by Tord Pederson. However, the ball escaped Pederson's grasp and rolled to the boot of a waiting Christian Duncan who deftly struck the ball into the back of the net, giving Georgia Southern some needed breathing room. From there, it was all up to the Eagles' backrow as the Ospreys began to desperately attack with the clock winding down. Despite the late barrage of shots from UNF, redshirt freshman goalkeeper Torgeir Fjaer stood strong and made eight saves en route to recording his first clean sheet of his young career while the rest of the defense, highlighted by freshmen Justin LittleRasmus Juul and Trei Schwartzas well as Wells, cleared out crosses and serves left and right to preserve the win.

FANS ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR OWN LAWN CHAIRS TO GAMES
Georgia Southern invites fans to bring their own lawn chairs to all home soccer games and sit in the grassy areas to the sides of the goals just off of the playing surface. Tents are not allowed and pets must be kept off the track and field.

GEORGIA SOUTHERN ATHLETICS TO AID LOUISIANA FLOOD RELIEF
Georgia Southern student-athletes are joining together to help raise funds for flood relief in Louisiana. GS Athletics will be asking patrons to join this effort during football, men's soccer, women's soccer and volleyball home games until Nov. 7. The money raised will be presented at the home football game against the UL Lafayette on Nov. 10.

"Our hearts are with the people affected by the floods in Louisiana," said Tom Kleinlein, Athletic Director at Georgia Southern. "My hope is that Eagle Nation will contribute and we all can impact lives that have been affected by this devastation."

Kleinlein, Georgia Southern President Jaimie Hebert, and the Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be giving the donations to a UL Lafayette representative at the game.

This cause is a significant for one of the Georgia Southern student-athletes. The Sun Belt has two peer members based in Louisiana and while only one student-athlete hails from the Bayou State, she was directly affected by the disaster. The home of Taylor Thompson's grandmother was destroyed due to 4 feet of flood waters. Thompson is from Baton Rouge – one of the hardest areas hit - and is a senior on the GS women's golf team. The student-athletes at Georgia Southern find it particularly meaningful to be able to directly help someone with such a close tie to this university.

Georgia Southern student-athletes will be at each home game collecting funds. The athletes will be holding buckets located at the guest relations tents near Gate 8 and Gate 12 for football games, and at the entrance of the facilities for soccer and volleyball games. Georgia Southern is asking the fans of both teams to give generously for such an important cause. Cash or checks made out to "Georgia Southern Athletic Foundation" will be accepted. Donations can also be made at the Athletics Ticket Office on Lanier Drive during normal business hours or online at GSEagles.com.

MEN'S SOCCER WILL PLAY FOUR TIMES ON THE ESPN FAMILY OF NETWORKS
Four Georgia Southern men's soccer games will receive national exposure in the coming weeks with the Eagles having the opportunity to play four times on the ESPN family of networks, including one home game and two during the road swing that begins next week as well as one game in October.

The Eagles got their first national exposure of the year on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at South Carolina when the Eagles and Gamecocks played on the SEC Network+. The second game on the ESPN family of networks came on Tuesday, Sept. 20 against Duke in Durham, North Carolina on the ACC Network Extended.

The third ESPN game of September for the Eagles will be at home against Campbell on Tuesday, Sept. 27. The game against the Fighting Camels will be available on ESPN3 with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. at Eagle Field.

The fourth and final ESPN game currently on Georgia Southern's schedule will be on Tuesday, Oct. 25. On that date, the Eagles will play at Clemson in a 7 p.m. game that will be nationally televised on the ACC Network Extra. Clemson is currently No. 7 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll and was the national runner up to Stanford last year.

NEXT UP
The Eagles will have 12 days to rest and prepare for their Sun Belt Conference opener. GS will open the conference slate on the road at rival Georgia State on Saturday, Oct. 8. The Eagles and Panthers will kick off at 7 p.m. in Atlanta.
