The two teams will meet for the second-straight year in non-conference play. The mid-week contest is slated for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
The Cougars (21-7) are a perfect 9-0 in CAA league play this season and hold a narrow 29-28 edge in the all-time series. The two squads split last year's two contests.
The Eagles (19-14) are coming off a road series victory over the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. Georgia Southern handed the Ragin' Cajuns their first home conference series loss since 2013.
The squad is hitting .269 as a team.
Chase Griffin leads the squad with a .313 batting average.
Aaron Mizell is the only other Eagle hitting over .300 and leads the team with eight doubles, three triples and 9 home runs.
Mizell is looking to become the first Eagle since A.J. Wirnsberger (2009-10) to hit 10 home runs in back-to-back seasons. Mizell is currently riding a 13-game reached base streak.
The pitching staff has posted a 3.80 ERA on the season.
Evan Challenger improved to 3-0 after limiting Louisiana to one run over seven innings. Challenger leads the Sun Belt with a 1.06 ERA and set a new career-high with 9 strikeouts last time out.
Matt Geiger will get the call on Tuesday and will be making his fifth start of the season. Geiger is 1-3 with a 6.75 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 21.1 innings pitched. The freshman righthander last started on March 29 at Texas State and allowed six runs – four earned – over 2.2 innings.
College of Charleston is hitting .312 as a squad. Blake Butler leads the team with a .360 batting average and 9 doubles. Carl Wise leads the team with eight home runs and 40 RBI.
The Cougars are coming off of a series sweep of Hofstra and have won seven-straight games. CofC outscored the Pride 23-5 in the series and picked up a pair of CAA weekly awards.
