Four-year football letterman from 1988 to 1991... A defensive end who completed his career as one of the top three all-time sack leaders with 24.5... As a junior, teamed with Giff Smith to form one of the best defensive end tandems in NCAA Division I-AA football... Recorded 19 sacks during his final two years, including a team-best 14 as a junior in 1990... Earned selection to three separate All-America squads in 1990 and 1991 – Associated Press (third-team, 1990-91), The Sports Network (first-team, 1991; honorable mention, 1990) and Football Gazette (second-team, 1991; third-team, 1990)... Played in a total of 56 games during his career and made 41 starts... Recorded 183 total tackles, which included 87 solo stops... Key member of Eagle squads which participated in three consecutive NCAA Division I-AA National Championship Games (1988, 1989 and 1990). Helped guide Georgia Southern to two national titles – 37-34 vs. Stephen F. Austin in 1989 and 36-13 vs. Nevada in 1990. Played vital role as member of college football's first-ever perfect 15-0 season (1989)... In addition to impressive third-ranking sack total, was also credited with 11 tackles for loss, five fumble recoveries, three caused fumbles, four caused interceptions and three batted passes during career... Top all-time tackle effort was 13 against Tennessee-Chattanooga in 1989... Enjoyed top statistical season as a sophomore in 1989, making 66 total tackles and 10.0 sacks, which still ranks as the fifth-best single-season performance in school history... Produced single-game, career-best sack total of three against Central Florida in semifinal round of the 1990 NCAA I-AA Playoffs.
