Two-year letterman for the Georgia Southern golf program... Earned Chris Schenkel scholarship for the 1975-76 season out of Broward Community College... Played one season and sat out a year before returning to Statesboro for the 1977-78 season under coach Buddy Alexander... Born July 11, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan... Top season was senior year with four top 10 finishes... Earned medalists honors at the Cypress Gardens Invitational in the fall of 1977... Other notable performances include a 4th-place finish at the Pinehurst Invitational, a 5th-place finish at the Palmetto Invitational and a 10th-place standing at the Southern Intercollegiate... Was top Georgia Southern golfer at the 1978 North and South Amateur Tournament... Outstanding two-year career at Broward Community College... Also captured titles of the 1984 J.C. Penney Classic and the 1990 Sazale Classic... Recorded two second-place finishes in 1990... Was runner-up at the U.S. Open and the Buick Open... Elected in the fall of 1987 to a four-year term as a Player Director on the PGA Tour's Policy Board.
