Georgia Southern's first sports information director, handling athletic publicity from 1954 until 1961... Born Dec. 25, 1927 in Peoria, Illinois... Received Bachelors degree in Journalism from Northwestern in 1949... Served as executive vice-president for marketing and entertainment for the Sacramento Kings... Was National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics' assistant executive secretary for seven years and served two-year stint with the Bowling Proprietors Association of America... Has served in the National Basketball Association for over 20 years, 17 with the Cincinnati Royals/ Kansas City Kings/ Sacramento Kings... Started career in NBA as general manager for the Cincinnati Royals... Held position of president and general manager for 10 years including the franchise's move to Kansas City in 1972... Named first-ever Sporting News ‘NBA Executive of the Year’ following 1973... Was NBA Vice president for Operations from 1979 to April 1982... Returned to Kings April 30, 1982 as president and general manager... Took over current position in March, 1988 to oversee marketing efforts for Kings and Sacramento Sports Association and Arco Arena... He is a trustee with the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and received NAIA's Frank Cramer National Service Award in 1983.
