A four-year starter on the offensive line for the football Eagles (1985-88)... Helped the Eagles to a 47-11 record and back-to-back Division 1-AA National Championships in 1985 and 1986... Earned First Team All-America by Associated Press, Kodak and Walter Camp, while making the Sport Network and Football News All-America teams... Was selected 1987 college Division ‘Player of the Year’ by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution... Georgia Southern ranked in the top 15 in eight national statistical categories during his four-year career... As the starting center his senior season, he helped the Eagles to a No. 4 national ranking in rushing offense (290.8 yards per game) and a No. 15 finish second in the nation scoring offense (394.91 ypg)... That team ended the campaign second in the nation with 33.7 points per game... The 1986 Eagles finished second in the nation in scoring offense (37.8 ppg), total offense (480.55 ypg) and rushing offense (307.7 ypg)... Southern ranked fifth in rushing offense his junior year (261.2 ypg) and eighth in rushing offense his freshman campaign (243.3 ypg).
