Two-time Golf All-American and former Eagle Golf Coach... Born February 20, 1953, in St. Petersburg, Florida... As a player he led Eagles to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in 1974 and 1975... Won the Seminole Invitational in 1975, the Azalea Invitational in 1976 and the 1977 Eastern Amateur... Finished second in the 1978 Georgia Open... Won the 1986 United States Amateur Championship... Coached the Georgia Southern Golf Team from 1977-1980... Led the Eagles to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances... In 1980 he was selected NCAA District III ‘Coach of the Year’... Started coaching at Louisiana State University in 1982; was selected NCAA District III ‘Coach of the Year’ in 1984 with the Tigers... Named Southeastern Conference ‘Coach of the Year’ in 1986... Moved to the University of Florida in 1988 where he earned his third District III ‘Coach of the Year’ award with his third different school... Played on the 1986. U.S. World Cup Team and was a Walker Cup Team member in 1987... Played in the 1987 and 1988 Masters.
