A three-year letterman for the basketball Eagles (1962-63, 1964-66), helping them to a 62-24 record over three years... Played at Georgia Southern his freshman year before transferring to Stetson University... Returned to Statesboro for junior and senior campaigns... Helped the 1965-66 squad to a 26-6 record and a spot in the NAIA national championship game... One of the most prolific rebounders in GSC history, grabbing 1,091 boards – the second-most ever... Ranks ninth on the school's all-time scoring twice, as a senior and a freshman... Was the team's high rebounder all three years of action, with each total still ranking in the top 10... Tallied 592 points as a senior, the ninth-best year ever... Started his career with 513 points as a freshman... Posted the team-high scoring total 12 times as a senior... Tallied career-high 41 points against Mississippi Southern as a freshman... Topped Southern in rebounding for 22 of 27 games as a senior... Grabbed 412 that year, the third-highest total in history...Added 353 as a junior and 326 as a freshman... Turned in eight of the top 15 rebounding performances (19 or more), including a career-best 26 against Stetson his senior season... Was selected to the NAIA all-star team that toured Russia following his freshman season... Following graduation, was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League, then played professional basketball in Italy.
