One of the greatest players in Georgia Southern baseball history... Batted .306 through 196 career games... Former career record holder in home runs (59, 2nd), total bases (526, 3rd) and runs batted in (208, 3rd)... Still owns single-season standards with 27 home runs... Recorded 285 hits in three-year career, playing in 1982, 1983 and 1984 seasons... Born May 14, 1963 in Hamilton, Ohio... Named First Team All-America in 1983 by the NCAA Coaches and Baseball America... Also named to the NCAA Coaches All-Region team... Three-year All-Trans America Athletic Conference choice... Earned TAAC ‘Player of the Year’ in 1984... Named to the 1984 United States Olympic Team... Played on the 1983 Pan American team, batting .375 in 10 games with four home runs and 15 runs batted in... Also saw action on the U.S. National team at the 1983 World's Fair... Drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 1984 draft... Top season was 1983 with a .400 batting average, 23 home runs and 82 runs batted in... Followed sophomore season with outstanding junior year, batting .360 with a school-record 27 home runs... Made just one error in 1983 for a .989 fielding percentage... Finished Eagle career with 18 assists from his outfield position.
