Clements and advanced to the NAIA World Series ... The Eagles took the national championship after posting wins against Minot State (8-3), Winona State (1-0) and Portland State (5-2, 2-0) ... GSC reached the series after defeating St. Barnard (7-5), Carson-Newman (7-5) and Pfeiffer (1-0, 7-2) in Area 7 Tournament play ... The 1962 national championship team consisted of: Mickey Allen, David Bell, Pierce Blanchard (All-America), George Cook, Larry Crouch, Don English, Miller Findley, Bill Griffin (All-America), Tommy Howland, Mike Johnston, Tommy Jones, Denny Kline, Larry Mauren, E.G. Meybohm, Clyde Miller (Captain), Buzzy McMillan, Jackie Raley, Roy Stewart and Charles Tarpley.
