First Day of Florida Relays in the Books

Gainesville, Fla. - The Georgia Southern track and field team wrapped up the first day of the Pepsi Florida Relays Friday with a great showing. Two Eagles set personal records as the team faced some of the best competition they have seen all season.

Ebony Carter (Rome, Ga.) set a personal record in the 100 Meter Dash Friday night. The junior ran a 11.72 which placed her 18th in the event. Freshman Jasmine Walker (Fairburn, Ga.) also set a personal record in the event. Walker ran a 11.98 for her new personal best.

Also Stephanie Hicks (Trenton, N.J.) placed 27th in the 100 Meter Hurdles, running 14.43. Jasmine Billings (Lawrenceville, Ga.) ran 14.91 to place 42nd in the event.

The Florida Relays will continue Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
