Track & Field Breaks School Records in Florida Relays
GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Georgia Southern track & field team broke school records in the 1500 meter and the high jump.
Laura Fuller (Cartersville, Ga.) broke the school record in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:45.55. Fuller narrowly passed the previous mark held by Brittney Jett with a time of 4:45.56.
Melanie Trumbo (Lilburn, Ga.) surpassed Kellie Mitchell's school high jump record of 5'7” with a 5'8.75” mark and finished third in the event at the relays. The Lilburn native also qualified for the NCAA Regionals with her jump.
The Eagles' 4x200 relay team finished 20th in the event with a time of 1:40.39.
Kassi Lee (Elberton, Ga.) set a new season high with a 12:33.02 time in the Steeplechase and finished 20th in the event.
Lynndsey Hyter (Dallas, Texas) placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.77 meters.
Track & field will continue the Florida Relays tomorrow in Gainesville, Fla.
