Siliga, Laliberte Sweep SoCon Softball Awards
Siliga was the catalyst at the plate for the Eagles over the weekend, batting .583 (7-for-12) with four RBI and two runs scored. Siliga recorded at least two hits in each game of the series in which GSU took two of three games from Elon. The junior from Oceanside, Calif., improved her overall batting average to .400 while recording her 17th multi-hit game of the season.
Laliberte was solid in the circle for the Eagles, earning victories in two starts against Elon. In both of her starts, the Cobourg, Ontario native tossed a complete game, allowing just one earned run in 14 innings of work. Laliberte struck out five batters in each contest. On the year, she leads the SoCon in earned run average (1.64) and ranks second in opponents’ batting average (.208).
The pair also swept the league’s player of the week awards on March 10. Laliberte and Siliga earn weekly conference honors for the third and second time, respectively.
