Women's Soccer Loses 2-1 to The Citadel

Charleston, S.C. – The Georgia Southern Women’s Soccer team lost 2-1 to The Citadel Friday afternoon in Charleston, S.C.

 

The Lady Eagles fall to 4-6-2 overall and 2-3-0 in the conference.

 

Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robbins, Ga.) gave the Lady Eagles an early lead when she knocked in a rebound shot. She finished the match with three shots on goal and a goal scored.

 

Georgia Southern led at halftime 1-0, but The Citadel scored two second half goals to give them a 2-1 win.

 

The Lady Bulldogs scored in the first minute of the half off of a Jessa Scott shot.

 

The Citadel went up 2-1 on an indirect penalty kick when Kristine Devine headed the ball to Amy Loughran.

 

Chelsea Kephart (Cumming, Ga.) had three shots on goal in the match.

 

Danae Kaimuloa (Escondido, Calif.) had a shot on goal as well.

 

The Lady Eagles return home Sunday to face off with the College of Charleston at 2 pm at Eagle Field.
