Briana Scott - 2012

Fourth season
Georgia Southern, 2013

Briana Scott is in her fourth year as a member of the Georgia Southern women's basketball program and her first season as a student assistant coach. The senior will help coach the post players.

Scott lettered three seasons for the Eagles and played in 80 contests, making 25 starts, before injuries forced her to cut her career short. She was named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2012.

"As disappointed as we are for Briana and the team that she will not be able to be on the court this season, we are thrilled that she will continue to be a part of our program in a new role," said head coach Chris Vozab. "Briana is very passionate about her team, a caring individual and a direct communicator, and those attributes will help her serve as a liaison between the coaching staff and the student-athletes."

Scott was a four-year letterwinner at Forest Park High School in Dumfries, Va., before her career at Georgia Southern. She is the daughter of Jerry and Edna Scott and has two siblings, a twin brother, Brandon, and sister, Shaneta Lee. Brandon is a senior on the football team at Richmond and Shaneta played softball at Chowan College.

Scott is a criminal justice major and is on track to graduate in May.
